MIDDLE RIVER, Md. — A damaged utility pole forced emergency crews to shut down power equipment near a local grocery store on Monday, leaving approximately 16,000 customers without electricity and triggering local traffic warnings.

Baltimore County Councilman David Marks urged residents to avoid the corridor surrounding Geresbeck’s grocery store, located at 2109 Eastern Avenue in Middle River, while repair crews assess the scene.
