We will have another round of thunderstorms today and tomorrow that will produce locally heavy rain. To best explain this, I want to start by looking at yesterday’s rainfall. This is the best example to show how we can have a Flood Watch or Excessive Rainfall Outlook in addition to other alerts… and the RESULTS ARE ISOLATED.
Here is a look at the Doppler Radar Rainfall Estimate. We can see many pockets of 1” to 2” of rainfall, while most areas in between were at 0.50” or less. The best we can do is contrast the forecast simulations with the actual storm development and then track them. We will do that again…
