Driver of tractor-trailer rescued after truck crashed into tree on I-70 in Frederick County

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A truck driver was taken to the hospital following a crash on Interstate 70 in Frederick County that forced all lanes to close overnight.

In a post on social media, the Frederick County Fire and Rescue Service said crews were on the scene of a tractor-trailer crash around 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 17 on I-70 near Mt. Phillip Road. There, officials learned that a tractor-trailer had collided with an unoccupied parked car, and the driver, a Baltimore man, was trapped in the truck.

As crews worked to rescue the driver, first responders completely shut down all lanes along I-70 East and West.

The 55-year-old man was flown to the hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown…
