Baltimore-area teachers continue to have pay problems as school starts

BALTIMORE – Pay problems are continuing for some Baltimore City Public Schools employees weeks into the new school year, while roughly 100 Baltimore County school employees were affected by a separate payroll issue this week.

City Schools could not confirm Friday whether the last seven of more than 200 pay cases identified before the school year had been resolved. In Baltimore County, district and union officials said an advance-pay problem was corrected quickly.

“This was an isolated issue,” said Baltimore County Public Schools spokesperson Gboyinde Onijala. “Checks have been cut for the impacted individuals, and those staff members will pick them up today or have elected to have them mailed.”…
