BALTIMORE, Md. — A warm front moving into the Mid-Atlantic region Saturday is bringing tropical moisture that could trigger heavy rain, scattered thunderstorms, and isolated flash flooding across the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas and surrounding waterways.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Saturday morning covering the I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The alert extends to major waterways, including the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay and the Tidal Potomac River.
Forecasters said rain and thunderstorm activity will pick up Saturday afternoon as warm air pushes northward, with the risk of heavy downpours continuing through the first half of Saturday night.
