Mother arrested for stabbing, killing son in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGCPD) said it charged a woman for fatally stabbing her son inside of their Lanham home in January.

On Jan. 25, officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 8000 block of Greenfield Dr. at about 7:15 a.m. There, they found 21-year-old Cristos Johnson suffering from a stab wound.

He later died at a hospital.

Preliminarily, investigators say the suspect stabbed Johnson during a dispute. 42-year-old Querida Rivera, Johnson’s mother, was charged with first-degree murder and other related charges.

She was arrested Wednesday morning and is in the Department of Corrections’ custody.
