The Pontiac then collided with a 2022 Hyundai Accent. A 2022 Toyota Camry was also hit by debris from the crash. The Pontiac’s male driver died at the scene. Two other drivers were taken to local hospitals.

Route 1 was closed in both directions between Whiskey Bottom Road and Maier Road for about four hours due to the crash. Police are still investigating the cause of the fatal accident.
