GREENBELT, Md. (WBFF) – A federal judge upheld Marilyn Mosby’s federal mortgage fraud conviction Friday, despite an attempt by her legal team to get the conviction tossed. Judge Lydia Griggsby denied the defense’s attempt to toss the conviction, agreeing that prosecutors outlined enough evidence indicating Marilyn Mosby was in Maryland when she wrote and submitted a gift letter to a mortgage company; the letter was the one document a jury decided Mosby lied on during her mortgage fraud trial. The letter indicated Nick Mosby – Marilyn’s now ex-husband and Baltimore City Council President – would gift Mairlyn the $5,000 she needed to secure a favorable interest rate when she purchased a condo in Longboat Key, Fl.
