Baltimore and DC Metro Area Under Heat Advisory, NWS Warns of Heat Illness Risks Amid Soaring Temperatures

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has issued a Heat Advisory that remains in effect from 11 AM to 7 PM EDT today, cautioning residents of central, northern, and southern Maryland, as well as the District of Columbia and central and northern Virginia about sweltering temperatures that could give rise to heat illnesses. With the mercury set to rise and the heat index values expected to soar as high as 107 degrees, folks are advised to take serious measures to avoid the adverse effects accompanying the soaring temperatures.
