Hogan, Alsobrooks view Baltimore as key battleground in US Senate race

BALTIMORE, Md. ( DC News Now ) — In the competitive U.S. Senate race in Maryland to fill the seat of retiring incumbent Ben Cardin, Democrat Angela Alsobrooks and Republican Larry Hogan are working the Baltimore region for votes.

Nearly half of Maryland’s votes come from the Baltimore-Metropolitan area. So with three weeks to go until the election, both nominees for the Senate seat are campaigning intently.

Outcome of US Senate race could hinge on Maryland’s ballot

Both Alsobrooks and Hogan hail from Prince George’s County, just outside D.C. But Baltimore is five times the size of any other city in Maryland.

So for Alsobrooks, she said she will “be working to make sure we’re drawing investment to Baltimore. The city is the largest in the state of Maryland.”

Twice-elected governor, Larry Hogan, campaigned in Baltimore over the weekend, touting the backing of local firefighters for his Senate campaign.

“Always in my past two elections, we won big in the Baltimore region,” Hogan said at a tailgate preceding the Ravens-Commanders game at M&T Bank Stadium.
