Carnival Cruise Line Considering Getting Rid of ATMs

Carnival Cruise Line is considering a significant change that could impact passenger convenience: the removal of on-board ATMs.

The cruise line’s brand ambassador, John Heald, recently posed the question to his followers, sparking a lively debate among the cruise community.

“Do you ever use the ATM’s on board? Are they something you think we should keep?” Heald asked on Facebook.

While ATMs have become a standard feature on most Carnival ships, located in both the main shopping areas and casinos, the company is exploring the possibility of removing them.

The move is driven by a desire to streamline operations and potentially reduce costs.

However, the proposal has met with strong opposition from passengers. According to news reports, hundreds of comments poured in following Heald’s post, with many expressing their support for retaining ATMs on board.

“I have used one before, but the fees are outrageous, so I definitely avoid if at all possible,” shared LeAnn Duncan. “That said, in an emergency situation, I was thankful there was one and I’m sure anyone in an emergency situation would appreciate having one.”
