Maryland woman’s random purchase led her to $1.8 million lottery jackpot

A Maryland lottery player was persuaded to buy a ticket but did not initially realize she was a millionaire.

The unnamed Prince George’s County resident plays lottery games only once or twice a year. In this instance, her mom prompted her to buy the ticket that led to her $1.8 million win in an October 28 draw.

The Bowie woman was at the gas station when her mom talked her into making the purchase. That random ticket was a jackpot winner that benefitted from a three-month rollover .

The Multi-Match, game player took some time to realize she had made the lucky purchase as her mom, who is a regular player, initially took the ticket home with her.
