Newsweek and Statista have unveiled the 2025 rankings of America’s Best-in-State Hospitals, spotlighting 700 leading healthcare facilities across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This year’s rankings are based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the AHA Annual Survey of Hospitals, patient experience surveys, and voluntary Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).
Topping the list in Maryland is The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, followed by the University of Maryland Medical Center. Also making the top tier are Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Saint Joseph Medical Center, and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, all located in Baltimore. The Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center also earned spots, underscoring the region’s exceptional healthcare offerings.
