Chances of rain and storms across Maryland for Saturday

A mixed – but quite spring-like – weather pattern is ahead for the area, bringing everything from storm chances to sunny, summer-like days.

Most of the overnight showers moved out of the Baltimore area before dawn on Saturday morning. It was a muggy start to the weekend with dew points into the 60s areawide. Scattered showers continue off and on through the day. Saturday afternoon starts off with a chance of storms as a cold front crosses the state, and temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s during the afternoon.

Parts of Maryland, including Baltimore City, are under a level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather. This means an isolated storm or two could become severe with strong, damaging winds being the greatest threat. The timing for any strong storms will be between about 1 pm and 5pm from west to east…
