New Village Academy Cancels Annapolis Mall Opening Amid Funding Collapse and Rising Costs

New Village Academy will no longer open its planned high school campus at Annapolis Mall, citing insurmountable financial challenges just months before its scheduled debut.

The school’s governing board voted to end the project on April 16, according to a Friday news release. Initially planned to open in fall 2024 after a previous delay, New Village Academy had promised a nontraditional educational experience with internships and “food court Fridays” as key features.
