Man sentenced to 16 years for string of armed robberies across Maryland

GREENBELT, Md. (DC News Now) — A man was sentenced Wednesday for a series of armed and attempted armed robberies of businesses throughout multiple counties in Maryland, according to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Maryland.

The USAO states James Kareen Day, 43, of Landover, will serve 16 years in prison and five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to three armed robbery and four attempted armed robbery charges.

Court documents state the incidents occurred between December 2022 and February 2023 at businesses located in Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George’s counties.
