A risk of severe storms has prompted a Friday Alert Day across Maryland

Temperatures are warming  into the mid and upper 70s this afternoon. A few spots southwest of Baltimore could briefly hit 80° Thursday afternoon. A mix of sun and clouds is in the forecast through early evening. As temperatures warm this afternoon, spotty showers and storms are possible.

Plan on a warm and somewhat muggy O’s game. Only spotty showers are possible, mainly well away Camden Yards.

Stormier weather returns Friday, may linger into Saturday

Friday and Saturday feature an unsettled period of weather as a front moves through Maryland. Friday is a First Alert Weather Day.

Multiple rounds of storms are possible Friday. The first round of rough weather is possible early in the day; especially between 6 and 11 a.m. There will be a bit of a midday lull, but isolated severe storms are still possible during the mid to late afternoon hours.  A final round of rain and thunder sweeps through our region Friday night. Friday storms will surely produce heavy rain and frequent lightning. A few storms could produce large hail and damaging wind gusts…
