Mother, two adult children escape from Edgewood house fire

EDGEWOOD, MD—Crews responded to a house fire in the Edgewood area on Tuesday.

The blaze broke out at just after 5:30 p.m. on May 20, 2025 in the 3000-block of Ebbtide Drive.

A mother and her two adult children were home when a smoke alarm activated, and one of them discovered smoke coming from a bedroom. They attempted to extinguish the fire with a pot of water; however, the fire grew beyond their control. They were able to escape, call 9-1-1, and then rescue their dog from inside…
