Maryland woman gets 4 years for buying car with stolen IDs and fake documents

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — A Maryland woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for her involvement in a scheme that used stolen identities to purchase vehicles, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Loryn Michelle Dorsey, 36, of Elkridge, Maryland, was convicted of bank fraud, aggravated identity theft, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Court documents revealed that on November 23, 2022, Dorsey fraudulently obtained the personal identifying information (PII) of two victims to secure a bank loan and purchase a car. Dorsey also assumed the fake identity of “Julia Ball.”…
