It will cost Maryland drivers more to own or rent a car with new taxes, fee increases

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (7News) — As of July 1st, Marylanders and certain Maryland businesses are being hit with higher taxes and fees, which are expected to total $1.6 billion.

7News has reported on the new laws and higher taxes kicking in in Maryland starting Tuesday — including recreational marijuana, for instance, being hit with a sales tax increase.

But the cost of owning and driving a car, even a rental, is also going up…
