Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott announced Wednesday that his office is getting two top staff members — both of whom are very familiar faces at City Hall.
According to a news release from Scott’s office, John David “J.D.” Merrill is returning to his role as deputy chief of staff, a position he held from July 2023 to June 2024.
Merrill served as the city’s interim deputy mayor for equity, health, and human services for the last year. In that role, he helped launch Baltimore’s first Office of Overdose Response, helped coordinate the mayor’s Summer Youth Engagement Strategy, and enhanced programming at recreation centers, according to the release…
