Baltimore (WBFF) — FOX45 News’ fight for transparency within the Maryland Judiciary continues. It’s now been nearly 200 days since we requested records related to public safety. If the judiciary does not deliver the documents soon, FOX45 is considering taking legal action.
On July 11, 2025, attorneys for FOX45 News sent a letter to the Maryland Judiciary containing the following, “After months of non-responsive correspondence and unpermitted delays, the Judiciary continues to stall, leaving WBFF with little choice but to send this final demand. The delay in providing a response to Mr. Papst request is unacceptable”.
The story behind the letter starts on January 9, when FOX45 News filed a public records request with the Maryland Judiciary, seeking to obtain the rulings issued by all juvenile court judges in Baltimore City going back to 2018. Our request was later expanded to include all 24 jurisdictions in Maryland.
