Bates urges more use of citation docket as frustration grows

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The citation docket has been a priority of Baltimore City State’s Attorney Ivan Bates since he took office two and a half years ago but getting it off the ground, he said, has been filled with frustration.

Driving home the message of accountability was the cornerstone of Bates’ campaign, one that helped him best incumbent Marilyn Mosby. The now familiar ‘pack your toothbrush’ phrase he uttered at campaign stops and community events has turned into a message he continues to use to tout his tougher approach to repeat offenders in Baltimore.

“When people feel that they can get away with it, they will. It’s instinctive behavior,” Bates explained…
