Man sentenced to 45 years for fatal shooting of Baltimore high school student

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Patterson High School student.

The Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office said Roger Alvarado-Mendoza was sentenced to life in prison, with all but 45 years suspended, for the March 6, 2023, shooting of Izaiah Carter.
