A Baltimore man is facing a slew of charges following a routine traffic stop that turned up illicit drugs and a stolen firearm. Jason Christopher Steptoe, 48, was taken into custody after a Maryland State trooper noted signs of impairment during the stop along Interstate 83 on the morning of Tuesday. This incident, reported by Fox Baltimore, occurred on the southbound lane at Ruxton Road near the Golden Ring Barrack.
After Steptoe was stopped for what initially appeared to be a minor traffic violation, the trooper’s suspicions were aroused, leading to a field sobriety test and subsequent arrest for driving under the influence. A K-9 unit was brought in, uncovering a dozen suspected ecstasy pills and a firearm reported stolen from Columbus, Ohio, back in 2021.
