SUN: Catalent to lay off 350 employees at Baltimore-area facilities

One of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers operating in Maryland plans to lay off 350 workers at three of its locations in the state.

New Jersey-based Catalent filed notice of the layoffs, which are slated to take effect Oct. 18, with the Maryland Department of Labor on Wednesday. The bulk of the dismissals, more than 300, will be in Harmans in Anne Arundel County.

An additional 32 notices are at the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s BioPark, where the company maintains a 128,000-square-foot gene therapy facility, overseen by over 200 employees…
