A five-alarm fire on Tuesday morning damaged many vacant properties in Downtown. The city-owned properties, located on the 200 block of W. Fayette St. and the 100 block of N. Howard St., are part of the proposed—but never-started—Superblock development.
No injuries have been reported, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.
The Superblock project was proposed in 2003 on the vacant and city-owned properties between N. Howard St., W. Lexington St., Park Ave., and W. Fayette St. It stalled for years and never began.
