Last Defendant in Baltimore Retaliatory Murder Sentenced to Life in Prison

The final defendant in a case involving three men accused of a retaliatory murder in Baltimore has been sentenced to life behind bars. According to the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, Garry Morris received a life sentence for First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Murder by Way of Conspiracy Resulting in Death. His co-defendants, Darrean Fleming and Wesley Lambert, had previously been sentenced to life imprisonment for their part in the December 2022 murder of Amare Burruss.

On the tragic day, Dallas Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of Pimlico Road after receiving reports about gunshots. Upon arrival, they found Burruss with a fatal gunshot wound. The case, however, seemed to quickly unravel when detectives identified all three co-defendants via surveillance footage, an effort that led to fully closing the circle almost two years later.

The prosecution showed videotapes demonstrating the victim firing shots at a known associate of the defendants before the retaliatory attack. The footage then captured the three men, Morris among them, quickly departing the scene in a gray Acura TL. The car was later seen on camera at the location where Burruss was found lifeless…
