Powerball creates Baltimore County millionaire, delivers a dozen more big wins in Maryland as jackpot roll ends

BALTIMORE, MD—The Maryland Lottery announced that a $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in Baltimore County as the game’s jackpot, which reached a near-record $1.787 billion, was won by two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas.

While no one in Maryland hit the jackpot in the Sept. 6 drawing, a Pikesville player matched all five white balls to win a second-tier prize of $1 million. The winning ticket was sold at Slade BP Gas Station at 524 Reisterstown Road.

In addition to the seven-figure win, 12 other Maryland Powerball players won prizes of $50,000 or more in the days leading up to the massive drawing. Overall, Maryland players won more than $13.4 million in prizes during the 42-drawing jackpot roll that began on June 1…
