Three men sentenced to life for fatal shooting in February 2024

(WBFF) — Three men received life sentences for their roles in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old in February 2024, officials said.

Davon Butler, 19, Charles Bowen, 21, Randolph Washington, all from Baltimore, received variations of life sentences for their involvement in the shooting death of Darcell Mitchell. Washington, who was 17 at the time of the shooting and thus unnamed in initial documents, received a sentence of Life with all but 50 years suspended, followed by five years of supervised probation. Butler was sentenced to Life plus 20 years. Bowen was sentenced to Life, with all but 100 years suspended, followed by five years of supervised probation.

“If you and your friends intend to rob someone in Baltimore City and one of you pulls a trigger and kills that person, then my office will pursue murder charges against all of you,” Baltimore City State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates said. “Significant prison time is not just a risk for those who carry a firearm illegally; it can be the fate of every individual who participates with them in the crime. I know that this conviction cannot repair the damage done to Mr. Mitchell and his loved ones, but I hope they feel a sense of justice because of the hard work of ASA Gallo and my Homicide team.”…
