Church’s Chicken to Return to Maryland in Early 2026

Church’s Texas Chicken (formerly Church’s Chicken) will make its return to Maryland at 7722 Harford Rd. in Parkville, MD. The upcoming location, which has been under construction for quite a while now, is replacing the former family-owned Greek restaurant Pita Pan. A representative from the company confirmed an “early 2026” opening timeframe for the company restaurant.

The store marks the first Church’s Texas Chicken in the state, though the company had Maryland locations under its previous ‘Church’s Chicken’ branding with the previous ownership group. Based on the lack of progress in recent months and various social media posts and comments, many customers have been under the impression that the project was scrapped, but a representative previously shared that the restaurant still plans to open its Parkville, MD location and earlier this month provided the early 2026 timeframe.

Church’s Chicken is known for its hand-battered and breaded fried chicken, as well as its popular side dishes like honey-butter biscuits, mashed potatoes, and fried okra.
