BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — The former interim CEO of Strong City Baltimore was sentenced Monday to time served for using COVID-19 relief funds to pay off debts incurred by the troubled Baltimore nonprofit’s previous leadership.
Federal prosecutors highlighted at the hearing that Reginald Davis, who pleaded guilty in June to a misdemeanor bank theft charge, was a rare exception to most coronavirus relief fraud cases — he had used the money to resolve the financial “quagmire” at the now-defunct nonprofit, not for his own benefit.
