After nearly 45 years, Annapolis police have made an arrest in the murder of Garnet Elizabeth Griffith, whose killing had gone unsolved since 1989, the department announced.
Police said that 68-year-old William Cook Jr. was arrested Thursday at his home on West Washington Street in Annapolis. An arrest warrant was issued the previous day, charging him in Griffith’s death.
Officers first responded to Griffith’s home on Kensington Way on Jan. 12, 1989, after receiving a 911 call. She was found dead inside with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner…
