City Councilman frustrated by lack of progress on open-air drug markets amid overdoses

(WBFF) — After the third mass overdose in Baltimore’s Penn-North neighborhood in recent months, more questions are being asked about what the city is doing to address not only the overdoses, but the open-air drug markets that can source them.

Councilman Mark Conway is among those frustrated by what he describes as a lack of comprehensive plan to tackle the issues, despite what he says are some steps in the right direction.

“I think while we certainly need to do a lot of the work around supporting people dealing with addiction, I think there’s a lot of additional work that needs to happen in open-air drug markets that have been there for decades. Decades upon decades upon decades,” Conway said during an interview for FOX45 News In Depth with Mikenzie Frost.
