Baltimore City Fire Department giving out free smoke alarms for people hard of hearing

BALTIMORE, Md. (WBFF) — The Baltimore City Fire Department is giving out free Lifetone HL Smoke Alarms to residents who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Working smoke alarms decrease the risk of dying in a home fire by more than 50%, according to officials.

The specialized smoke alarms use “patented monitoring technology to actively listen for the sound of your smoke alarm — alerting you at the first signs of danger.”…
