Citing utility cost concerns, Mark Conway says he’s done with BGE campaign donations

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Turning down campaign donations isn’t something politicians often do, but in Baltimore, a councilmember and congressional candidate is pledging not to take money from a specific organization.

Citing concerns with rising prices and the impact on his constituents, Councilman Mark Conway, who also is running for Congress challenging Kweisi Mfume, said he will no longer accept campaign donations from Baltimore Gas and Electric, BGE.

“I honestly don’t think at this point that where we are, Democrats should be accepting money from BGE,” Conway said. “If your bill is paying for my re-election through an energy company, I don’t want it.”…
