The Carrollton Viaduct in Maryland: the first major structure that was part of the American railroad

The historic Carrollton Viaduct is located in southwest Baltimore, Maryland, and spans the Gwynns Falls stream near Carroll Park. This is the first masonry railroad bridge in the United States. It was built for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O), which was founded in 1827.
