(NewsNation) — Baltimore’s top prosecutor is explaining why a police officer who was seen in viral video chasing a man down with a cruiser has been indicted for attempted murder, among other charges.
Officer Robert A. Parks violated his department’s general orders when he pursued the unidentified man Oct. 28 and steered the police cruiser “directly at that individual,” City State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates told “Banfield” on Thursday.
While videos shared online show a gap between the police cruiser and the running man, Bates said the police cruiser hit the victim once.
