Clarence Woods, Jr., a 63-year-old former financial services provider from Glen Burnie, Maryland, was sentenced to 18 months in jail for investment fraud and theft. Woods defrauded 13 investors of more than $380,000 and stole $175,000 by transferring money from a client’s bank account to his own. The total amount taken was over $550,000 from 16 victims.
On October 30, 2025, Judge Mark W. Crooks of the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court issued the sentence. Woods will serve his time at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center. After release, he will have five years of supervised probation and must pay $573,161 in restitution. If he violates probation, he could face more than 18 years in jail…
