» D.C. Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder in Canton Shooting

A Washington D.C. native pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder and firearm use before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Hope Tipton on Nov. 21, acknowledging his involvement in a shooting that occurred in Southeast Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood last December 7.

Charles Baisey, 20, was initially also charged with first-degree attempted murder and assault, three gun violations, and three conspiracy offenses in connection to the incident, which occurred Dec. 7, 2024 on the 2200 block of Boston Street. In pleading his guilt, Baisey waived his right to jury trial.

Baisey was one of three suspects involved in the alleged shooting, and was apprehended alongside his 17-year-old co-defendant in Prince George’s County after being involved in a hit-and-run incident on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
