Maryland Prison Supervisor Convicted Of Covering Up Inmate Assault, Lying To Feds: DOJ

Jermaine Sturgis, 41, of Laurel, Delaware, was found guilty after a five-day trial of conspiracy to obstruct justice and making false statements to a federal officer, Baltimore, Monday, Dec. 15, according to the US Attorney’s Office.

Sturgis previously served as a lieutenant correctional officer at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover, where prosecutors said he played a key role in hiding evidence after a junior officer unlawfully assaulted an inmate.
