Baltimore County police officer collapses while working, rushed to hospital

TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department is calling for community support as a veteran detective remains hospitalized after a medical emergency on New Year’s Eve.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Detective P. Hoke was working the desk at the Precinct 6 station in Towson when he collapsed. The detective was working a voluntary overtime shift at the time of the incident. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where he continues to receive medical care.

Detective Hoke is a 30-year veteran of the force and is currently assigned to the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau. His deep roots within the agency include his father, Robert Hoke, who is a retired member of the department…
