Baltimore’s state of emergency continues as crews battle dense ice after storm

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore remains under a state of emergency as city crews continue around-the-clock efforts to clear heavy ice and address hazardous winter conditions following last week’s storm.

Mayor Brandon Scott confirmed Saturday morning that the emergency declaration issued January 23 is still in effect, allowing city agencies to operate 24 hours a day to remove what officials describe as dense, rock-like ice from streets, sidewalks, and pedestrian pathways.

Since the storm began, the city has received more than 8,400 service requests related to snow and icy conditions…
