Nearly 250 people arrested on drug charges, other offenses in Maryland

MARYLAND — Hundreds of people are facing charges following a large-scale fugitive operation targeting individuals with outstanding warrants for violent crimes and drug trafficking offenses.

The coordinated enforcement effort, conducted from Jan. 20 through Jan. 31, involved agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the United States Marshals Service and local law enforcement agencies. Most of the arrests took place in Baltimore.

Authorities said 239 individuals were taken into custody during the operation. Those arrested face a range of charges, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault, weapons offenses, sexual assault and various drug crimes…
