Proposed legislation in Maryland could increase minimum wage – by A LOT

HAGERSTOWN – HB 1220 and SB 886 in Annapolis, MD, could cause employers to take a significant hit if it passes.

The bill would increase minimum wage to $25 per hour by 2030. It would be a 67% increase from the current $15 per hour.

The bill would also eliminate the tip credit and automatically tie future wage increases to inflation beginning in 2033…
