» Trial Postponed For Defendant Accused of Shooting Into Crowd

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge John A. Howard postponed the trial of defendant Deshaen Carroll, 52, after notice that Carroll’s lawyer, Augustine Okeke, was scheduled for another proceeding at the same time. The prosecution had no objections and allowed Judge Howard to send the case to the reception court for rescheduling.

The defendant is charged with multiple counts, including attempted first‑ and second‑degree murder, assault, reckless endangerment and various weapons offenses.

According to court documents, Carroll is accused of shooting two men and firing into a crowd during an argument with one of the victims. Around 10 p.m. on July 13, 2025, Baltimore Police responded to several ShotSpotter alerts and located the first victim on the 2000 block of Kennedy Avenue with a gunshot wound to his right shin.
