Baltimore Man Shot Dead By Officers After Pulling Out Gun Inside Store Identified By AG

Dwight Hawkins, 37, of Baltimore, died after being struck by gunfire around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the 3600 block of Belair Road, according to the Maryland Attorney General’s Office.

Investigators say officers were already inside the business when they noticed Hawkins acting suspiciously. He exited the store, began running, and ignored multiple commands to stop.

Hawkins then pulled out a handgun within feet of one of the officers, prompting both to fire, according to the Independent Investigations Division…
