BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A new Inspector General’s report is raising questions about how taxpayer dollars are being spent inside Baltimore’s Mayor’s Office — and prompting strong reactions from city residents.
The report, which reviewed spending from July 1, 2022, to November 17, 2025, details more than $801,000 spent on food and catering. Of that total, about $52,000 went toward events at Ravens and Orioles games inside the mayoral suite.
Investigators also flagged specific purchases, including alcohol bought during sporting events. According to the report, two bottles of Maker’s Mark were purchased for $117.02 and $61.89 was spent on Tito’s Vodka. Receipts from M&T Bank Stadium show two separate outings totaling more than $1,000. One resident pointed to a $740 charge for Maryland crab cakes, calling the spending “premium and lavish” and “not acceptable.”…
