The US Army announced on Tuesday, March 3, that increased force protection and security measures are now in effect installation-wide at the Anne Arundel County base, officials said in a message to the community.
The changes mean 100 percent ID checks will remain in place, random vehicle inspections will increase, and residents should expect a larger security presence around facilities, schools, housing areas, and high-traffic locations.
“Based on current global events, Fort Meade is implementing increased force protection and security measures across the installation,” officials said. “Employees, residents, and visitors should plan for these enhanced measures and potentially longer wait times.”…
