SUN: Ravens withdraw proposal to bring Elon Musk-backed underground tunnel to Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Ravens have withdrawn a proposal to bring an Elon Musk-backed underground commuter tunnel to Baltimore, casting uncertainty over the city’s place in a nationwide infrastructure competition.

Baltimore had been selected as one of three finalists to receive the privately funded tunnel through The Boring Company’s Tunnel Vision Challenge, with the Ravens submitting the winning bid. But the organization has since backed out, halting the city’s momentum in the process.

“The Boring Company identified Baltimore as a potential site through its Tunnel Vision Challenge, presenting a possibly compelling opportunity for the region,” a Ravens spokesperson said in a statement. “While we appreciate being selected, the concept is only in the exploratory phase and following discussions with public partners, we have determined we will not continue with the process at this time. We are grateful for the collaboration and remain supportive of initiatives that drive innovation and investment in Baltimore.”…
